Glass
I have been reading Glass the sequel to Crank and i am just about finished with it. I love the book so far but then again i hate it. The reason for this is the main character just makes me angry. She has now gone back to drugs and now is doing a more harsher mixer of meth. She is even more addicted to it and is now neglecting her baby. It one of those things where is it just so good but she is so bad to her baby and her own body in the book. I was very angry when i read the part in the book when she puts him on the floor and she falls asleep because she is crashing from her high and she completely blocks him out. She falls asleep and he rolls under the chair and gets stuck and she is crashing so hard she can't hear him. Her mother comes home and finds him under the chair screaming and her alseep on the floor, that when she then kicks her out of the house. I feel this is where she really goes of the deep end for good.

Glass
I just started reading the sequel to Crank which is called Glass. The book is very good so far i am about 1/3 of the way in. It's about after she had her baby and now is back on the crazy roller coaster of drugs again, except this time she is into crystal meth or Glass. It is more addicting and more intense than regular meth. In the book Kristina deserves criticism. After her birth of Hunter she was away from the Monster but got that little opportunity to get some and she got right back on the wrong tract. She is leaving her baby and not wanting to really have anything to do with him, the thing i thing she deserves the most criticism on is she took 100$ out of Hunters college account to pay for her drugs. She is starting to care more about boys and drugs than spending time with her baby boy and watching him grow, for that she deserves all the criticism in the world. I am anxious too read the rest of the book.

Crank 11/3/2010
I have just finished the book Crank and i loved it! It was very hard to put down and after you got the reading of the book it went pretty fast. In the book there is a girl who starts to snort crank in her very early years of high school, she then gets addicted to the drug and it takes over her entire life. She gives up old friends, family and even worse she stops caring about school and skipping classes. The part in the book that really makes you realize how desperate people really get on drugs is her indecent with Brenden and how she let him take advantage of her just to get her supply of drugs that he shorted. I think this book was even more interesting that this was based on a true story and the mother was the author of the book. That sets in a little more I think because you know this does actually happen in real life. I liked this book also because it reminds me of my little sisters situation. She was adopted by us because her mom was to into drugs to take care of her. My stepdad which is actually her uncle adopted her when she was 18 months old. The day we got her she was dying from a serious disease called R.S.V. and her mom only though she had a minor cold. The day we got her we had to rush her to the ER and they told us that if we would have waited 4 hours longer she would have died in her sleep. So this book was one of my favorites because it hit home with me. I am so excited to read the seaqual.

Crank
I am currently reading the book Crank by Ellen Hopkins and I am loving this book so far. It is about a girl who get addicted to Meth and starts to lose everything. She gets introduced to "crank" when she goes to visit her dad that she hasn't seen in years, there she is introduced to crank and also falls in love in a weird relationship for the first time. She changes majorly in the book as if anyone would being addicted to meth or crank. In the beginning she is a well behaved girl who has good grades and hangs around the right crowd of people. That is before she goes to her dads for a couple weeks and learns how to snort it with her new love and also in the end with her dad. She then begins to have two personalities. I think like her everyone has the good voice in there head and then the voice that makes you do dumb stuff. She goes back home and family notices she had changed and somthing was different. She doesn't care about school, old friends, or her family she just cares about getting high and where she is going to get her next eight ball from. I haven't finished the book quite yet but i am asuming that it doesn'
t get any better in that addicts usually don' without rehab.

Finished 13 reasons why
Last week we just currently finish the book 13 reasons why, in all i absolutely loved the book and was very hard not to read ahead and put it down. In the last half of the book the events and the issues get a little bit more intense. Clay founds out that his friend Tony knows all about it and if the tapes are not passed on he is the one with the extra set of tapes and he knows excatly why Clay is on there before he does. He finds out this part wasn't all bad. Hannah also witnesses a rape and also is part in a accident that makes a fellow senior pass away. In the beginning i wasn't sure why all the smaller things would make her commit suicide and i though she was being very emotional. As you read the end you notice she finally gives up and tries to get help but no one notices her. I feel like after all the events that happened at the end of the book i see why she was so depressed at the end. Seeing that or having to do with a death would set me in a depression also. Although i dont like suicide, i have had a family member do it, i know understand why she killed herself.

The Blind Side
I just got done reading The Blind Side this summer, i recently had watched the movie and saw that it also had a book. Books to me have more information and detail than a movie does. I absolutly loved this book. The books about a poor black boy who is living on the streets and a rich class white family lets him stay in there home. They are the Touhys and they let him stay at there home and realize he has nothing. He doesn't even know what his real last name is. He starts to learn in school and through out his journey he becomes a NFL player. This story brought emotions to me that in the beginning I was holding back tears, it was a horrible life for anyone to live. He was so alone in the world and didn't have anyone to look up to or to run to if he needed that. He was washing his cloths which was mainly one shirt and one pair of pants in a sink at his local laundry mat. The he meets his future family and its starts to lighten the mood. Knowing that this is based on a true story and knowing that someone was actually living that way is very upsetting. In the back of your head you know people live like that but to see it is very depressing. Through out the book you see Mrs. Touhy take him in and love him like her own children, knowing that this actually happens changes your emotions in the book. It gives you hope and happiness, knowing people will actually help others. This book is a very uplifting and happy ended book that i enjoyed very much.

13 reasons why
I am currently reading the novel Thirteen Reasons Why. I have not finished this book, I am about half way through and I love this book so far. In this novel so far the main character has killed her self, and in thirteen tapes it explains why. In the book she has changed majorly from beginning to where i am in the book right now.
She changed through out the book as in the beginning she was a happy freshman who just moved to a new town and ready to start a new adventure. She then meets her new friends and they ditch her for new ones at the beginning of the year which does not bother her to much but still irritates her. Then she meets a boy and he decides to tell the entire school that a kiss went way more then it actually did to get his reputation up. Then she meets another girl Courtney who she thought she was friends with but was just another person who ditched her in the end and was spreading more rumors about her.
She dramatically changes and becomes more depressed and not wanting to be around with the more people that let her down and put her down. She is starting not to want to hang around people because she thinks there is no one out there that means any good and just wants to be friends. She pretty much starts to give up on life and trying to do anything. She is no longer that happy girl and falls into a state of depression and not caring about anything including her self.

13 reasons why
We are reading thirteen reasons why right now as a class read. I have not finished the book, I am about to the middle of the book. Its about a girl who killed herself and is now sending around tapes to the people that she blames. I think in this book as of right now she is being very sensitive about everything that happened. I have been through high school and everything she is going through right now i think is something that an average everyday high school girl goes through. Rumors and harsh things that upper class men say is just the way high school is, you just can't let it get to you. In the reading she meets friends in the beginning of the reading and when they start going to school they eventually separate and go of in there own direction. She gets very upset by this and I just see this as a everyday school thing. You meet new people and forget about the friends you had. Also she meets her first kiss and he tell everyone that they did more than a kiss. That in my eyes is a normal freshmen boy who is just trying to be cool and fit in. He is trying to fit in with the upper class men and get is reputation up to be a popular kid. Yeah is wrong and it does make you angry i'm sure but things like that eventually die off and everyone forgets about it. But i haven't finished the reading yet so it could be that these events lead up to bigger events that could changer her life and make her not want to be here anymore.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows
I Just recently got done reading the last Harry Potter book by J.K. Rowleing. The last book is called Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows. The main Characters in this book are Ron, Hermione and Harry. This is a book from a series and happens to be the very last book. In the series Harrys parents are killed by the evilest wizard and his name is Voldemort. He is the only boy who lived and now he is out to kill Harry. Ron and Hermione are Harry's best friends and have been through everything thick and thin.
I think that all of these characters are worth praise not only in this book but throughout the whole series. They all are very brave and never give up on each other or themselves not matter how close to death they might be. Hermione risks her life in the book by going with harry to hide out and look for the rest of the Horcruxes to help defeat Voldemort. She goes with him to dangerous places to help to look for these because they will not win without them.
Ron should be praised for the same reasons. All though he does leave them because he is sick of the constant worry he still comes back to help them. He stays strong and he keeps going even though one of his brothers gets killed by death eaters. They both sacrifice so much to help there friend to live.
At the every end of the book Harry is faced to Lord Voldemort to fight. He sacrifices him self to save Ron and Hermione because he would have killed them first. Harry is given a choice to stay in heaven or go back to fight, he chooses to go back and fight to end the murders for one and for all and he ends up winning. All these characters deserve praise for there courage and sacrifice.

Speak.
I read the book Speak by Laurie Anderson back in high school as one of our “literature circle” projects. I just recently re-read the book and I forgot how much that the author made the book so realistic. In high school people are mean and just follow what is in style or what the popular kids are doing. You see this in Speak when she calls the cops and everyone is mad at her and will not even speak to her. When they do it's negative and mean. I wasn't the most popular in high school so I had some times when people would give me hard times and its does hurt. I can't even imagine how its feels to be raped and not a have a soul to speak to or talk about how she is. The books really opened my eyes on not to make fun of people and not to judge because you never know what someone is going through. I understand how she cannot trust anyone and she will never probably will be able to, at least I know I never would be able to. It's awesome how she is able to kind of help herself by drawing the tree in her art class. I think that it helped her be a strong person and helped her cope through her tragedy until she was able to talk to someone. I also think that all though what happened to her she is still a caring person. She wanted to tell Rachel so bad throughout the book that Andy her new boyfriend had raped her, to protect her to make sure it didn’t happen to Rachel also. It is sad when she does tell her and she calls her a liar and tell her that she is just jealous, even though that they had been friends since little kids she still turns her back on her. I think about that I don't even know If I would be able to do that to my best friend. I love the book and I think that it ended perfectly and was very pleased with it. I will defiantly be reading more of her writings.
