Crank

I am currently reading the book Crank by Ellen Hopkins and I am loving this book so far. It is about a girl who get addicted to Meth and starts to lose everything. She gets introduced to "crank" when she goes to visit her dad that she hasn't seen in years, there she is introduced to crank and also falls in love in a weird relationship for the first time. She changes majorly in the book as if anyone would being addicted to meth or crank. In the beginning she is a well behaved girl who has good grades and hangs around the right crowd of people. That is before she goes to her dads for a couple weeks and learns how to snort it with her new love and also in the end with her dad. She then begins to have two personalities. I think like her everyone has the good voice in there head and then the voice that makes you do dumb stuff. She goes back home and family notices she had changed and somthing was different. She doesn't care about school, old friends, or her family she just cares about getting high and where she is going to get her next eight ball from. I haven't finished the book quite yet but i am asuming that it doesn'
t get any better in that addicts usually don' without rehab.

Finished 13 reasons why

Last week we just currently finish the book 13 reasons why, in all i absolutely loved the book and was very hard not to read ahead and put it down. In the last half of the book the events and the issues get a little bit more intense. Clay founds out that his friend Tony knows all about it and if the tapes are not passed on he is the one with the extra set of tapes and he knows excatly why Clay is on there before he does. He finds out this part wasn't all bad. Hannah also witnesses a rape and also is part in a accident that makes a fellow senior pass away. In the beginning i wasn't sure why all the smaller things would make her commit suicide and i though she was being very emotional. As you read the end you notice she finally gives up and tries to get help but no one notices her. I feel like after all the events that happened at the end of the book i see why she was so depressed at the end. Seeing that or having to do with a death would set me in a depression also. Although i dont like suicide, i have had a family member do it, i know understand why she killed herself.

The Blind Side

I just got done reading The Blind Side this summer, i recently had watched the movie and saw that it also had a book. Books to me have more information and detail than a movie does. I absolutly loved this book. The books about a poor black boy who is living on the streets and a rich class white family lets him stay in there home. They are the Touhys and they let him stay at there home and realize he has nothing. He doesn't even know what his real last name is. He starts to learn in school and through out his journey he becomes a NFL player. This story brought emotions to me that in the beginning I was holding back tears, it was a horrible life for anyone to live. He was so alone in the world and didn't have anyone to look up to or to run to if he needed that. He was washing his cloths which was mainly one shirt and one pair of pants in a sink at his local laundry mat. The he meets his future family and its starts to lighten the mood. Knowing that this is based on a true story and knowing that someone was actually living that way is very upsetting. In the back of your head you know people live like that but to see it is very depressing. Through out the book you see Mrs. Touhy take him in and love him like her own children, knowing that this actually happens changes your emotions in the book. It gives you hope and happiness, knowing people will actually help others. This book is a very uplifting and happy ended book that i enjoyed very much.
